I was scrolling down my Facebook page on one usual evening when I found out about the ELLE's event. Without second thoughts after reading the event details, I secured one ticket straight away. It ended up as one of the greatest event I have ever attended.

On a Saturday morning located at White House Institute of Design, Sydney, ELLE Australia held an Idea Lab - where inspirational women and men that have considered success in their field with their brands come to this moderate room, sharing their story as well as tips and trick of being creative, how to start and also how to remain in the business.

The day started off with an introduction by Justine Cullen, the Editor-in-Chief of Elle Australia. Then she passed the stage to Karen Webster, the head of strategy and development of Whitehouse Institute of Design.
As I quoted from Karen during her 10 minutes speech, in order to be creative it is important to always be curious, dream and think big, explore and be ponder. Ditch out your anxiety, but be passion, take the risk and be courageous towards every idea that you have because no idea is a bad idea. Be brave to experiment even though experiment may be failing but it is not a failure.

Tash and Elle from Theyallhateus.com told us their stories before becoming world-famous blogger and having inspirational website as they remain us to be visionary, be ourselves and to always have the plans. Alice Tran, the co-founder of The Daily Edited quit her corporate job to start this mad accessories business (yep, I am one of TDE fans!), Alice believes in the ideas of collaborations with other artists' capability to bring the ideas discussion and turn that into reality.

And other inspirational conversations with speakers and influencers, we also had Michael Lo Sordo sat down with Jules Sebastian (Tea with Jules) discovering his magical brand.

At the #ElleInspires, they had Instagram competition where they chose the best snaps around the event, and guess what? Yeah, your girl (read: me) won $100 TDE Voucher! :p Teehee! I have not decide what I am going to spend that on, yet. ELLE Australia also prepared the best goody bag ever!

Overall, the experience of attending inspirational conversations by the pros has gave me sight and inspire the path and leap of faith I need to take in order to reach the dreams I have been dreaming. I fully understand that it will not come easy and how hard we all need to work for what we wanted, but it is not impossible. I asked Justine for her advice on how to be "successful" blogger and she quoted this "Be yourself. You also need to work hard, and have integrity."

MOOD

IMG_0604

MOOD

(mu:d; noun)
A temporary state of mind or feeling.

photographed by Vivien Chan

Orange leaves fall, rain follows as it is a part of mother nature. It is as interesting as how sun shows herself for 15-precious-minutes in the middle of light rain and... disappear. It is as funny as how your mood can elevate in the speed of light (I refuse to break down numbers here, I passed physics in high school with credit).

One morning you woke up feeling lifeless, or "this is gonna be a good day" or horrible day. One morning you pictured this perfect #ootd assemble and the next 30 minutes after shower you just do not know what to wear, or the worst thing? I have nothing to wear (in fact, you barely have room in your closet for new items-yes I am calling myself out on this). Especially woman in general, their empire state of mind is actually a chaos. They can say yes and be angry at the next five minutes, it gets worse when their period comes visit every month. It is what exactly happen to me.

On a fine Saturday morning when I woke up, I had an appointment with Vivien (yes, I mentioned her like million times-okay not million time but visit her here to know more). I was feeling to wear something chunky or sweatshirt or something oversized but the weather was too hot for those yet I still felt like a loose-long sleeves shirt with mini skirt and converse. I dragged out my boyish side, didn't I? I barely wear this loose blouse from Rockman, but I personally love this item. The fabric is so comfortable and not your regular white blouse. I paired it up with this A-Line floral skirt from Zara and a pair of black-white converse for a fine strolling day around town and cafe-hopping. And by the way, I am going to contribute articles to Townske. I hope you'll check it out later (stay tune on my instagram). -Lennyxx

The Pink Blazer.

THE PINK BLAZER
"fallen leaves, breeze, yet pastel stays still."

Photographed by Winna

If you followed me both on facebook and instagram, you have probably seen few photos of me wearing this outfit. Yep, I have finally had time to write again after some other baking days (I baked green tea doughnuts and choco chip cookies, but it is not the topic now :p).

I got this pink blazer for only $1 (yes! no kidding). I grabbed it quickly without even tried it on because the lady was rushing everyone in the store that she is closing in 2 minutes. I thought why not. It is 4 sizes bigger than my normal size but that's the thing about thrift-shopping (I'll do my own tips and trick on thrift-shopping next time).

To trick any oversized shirt/blazer with long sleeves is to roll up the sleeves itself, it gives you the sized down effect like what I did on this outfit. I paired up the oversized blazer with white shirt and short jeans to create the casual look and a pair of boots. Winna, my roommate, helped me to take these photos when we went to have lunch at Haven (Surry Hills).

THE PINK FRAME x ARTISTRY

IMG_0332

THE PINK FRAME x ARTISTRY

A collaboration between The Pink Frame with an ultimate premium quality skin care brand and say bye to dry skin.

I understand how we dream of healthy skin especially our face and most of us would not mind to invest such amount of money in taking a good care of it. From going to facial almost every week or changing many skin care products and yet finding a perfect one still gives us problems. I personally have a sensitive skin, that would take couple of different products from different brands until I find a perfect one. Since I moved to Sydney, Australia, picking up the dry climate has been quite hard even though I have applied the daily moisturizer. But thanks to skin care revolution, a product called ARTISTRY is here.

As a premium quality brand, that contains organic material such fresh Norwegian Fjord Water, Himalayan Pink Rock Minerals and Hawaiian Acai that boost the skin hydration, healthier, smoother and signicant improvement in skin texture after 28 days. My sensitive skin picked up really well.

Here are the first couple products that I used and the steps to use them. I have to say my skin stayed hydrate and fresh and moisturized all day and night long.

1. Cleanse your face with the ARTISTRY Fresh Foaming Cleanser. (make sure you are using warm water for best result).
Personal review : The cleanser smells fresh, like a baby product's smell and its texture is gentle. It removes excess oil and residual makeup while leave moisture. What I like about this cleanser is its soap-free gel creates cushiony foam that rinses easily and did a better job than regular face cleanser. Right after I cleansed my face, it feels really fresh.

2. Apply ARTISTRY Vital Skin Serum Concentrate.
Personal review : Only few dots needed while applying on your face, it moisturized well and light up the skin. The serum has the same texture as its cleanser. The reasons of applying this serum before you put on the ARTISTRY mask is to secure and nurture minerals and elements on to the skin while the mask works its magic.

3. Put on the ARTISTRY Ampoule Mask. (and let it stays up to 30 minutes for best result)
Personal review : In the history of using face masks, I would say this is the best mask I have ever applied, yet. This mask has three layers; fine mesh lining, thicker mesh lining and the actual mask itself. The formula contains ultra-moisturizing hydra liposome with Norwegian Fjord Water which makes the mask really wet.

This product is for unisex. Oh meet Nick, my co-creative as well as boyfriend :)

After I removed the ARTISTRY Ampoule Mask, I feel my skin is really moisturized and I actually go the day without applying my daily moisturizer until the day I woke up (today), it stayed moisturized and not dry at all.

Welcome to The Pink Frame

1.38AM. Bed. Sia's Alive is screaming in my ears.
As a Sensitive. Loving. Generous. A lack of self-worth. Person.

It is not my favorite; laying on bed with sleepy eyes and loud mind. it is not the first time, though. The only thing to shut this loud, babbling thoughts is always to pour them out (in my case). I hope you would not mind with another personal post.

Having The Pink Frame going for 2 years now without any introduction (at the first place) makes me feel rude. How the hell did I not tell you about who I am and expected you to understand this whole chaos I tried to articulate into a form of readable tidiness? Excuse my self and my chaotic thoughts on how I should introduce "The Pink Frame".

I am Lenny Novitasari. Just turned 21 last November. Impatiently waiting for the day I can purchase a ticket to New York on my own while studying in Sydney, Australia. The love of photography have grown since I was a kid picking up my mom's film camera and took photo of me and my sister. Sadly I have not really pursued photography as a hobby, but before I came to Sydney, I bought a pocket camera with my own money and broke it two weeks after. It was a pink camera. I don't want to talk about how stupid the moment it broke was. That stuck lens. No. The love of fashion grew when my mom dressed me in a white hello kitty shirt tucked in to a denim jeans with an extra front-pouch, short bob, tanned skin (still tan skin), Red sandals. I remember my aunts who live in Hong Kong sent me clothes, which were fashionable at that era. Growing up as a teenager, I love reading local magazine and imagine if one day I could be one of the people I read. I have the same size with my mom, she's petite and her closet was my favorite place back then. I would asked  her to find me her office skirt and paired it with my other aunt's ol' floral satin top or black tank top. and The other day I would took my dad's over-sized grey shirt that looked huge on a petite teen(re: me); I still have that in my wardrobe, and he never looked for it.
Moustache
cats

I remember the moment I left my wavy hair long with a full bang and the ability to apply winged eyeliner because growing up I was not familiar to beauty products, not even know foundation exists because mom would tell me to stick with my Pigeon compact powder (FYI, this is famous as baby product. meh.) and trying any face cleanser I saw on TV would left me pimples for days. Good ol' days.

The Pink Frame was spontaneously hand picked out of many cool names or title anyone could ever had for their journal. diary. blog. bands. anything. I am not good on naming things. The year before I started this, I met Vivien, who owns take-eat.weebly.com, Nick's Uni friend and we happened to hang out that day, talked about hobbies and how Nick babbled my previous left-out hobby to Viv. She then urged me to back on track and started this, The Pink Frame. We are now best friends, as she would take me on cafe-hopping, insta-share a lot of food pics (I mean, a lot!), helped me to launch The Pink Frame Youtube channel, assist photo shoot sometimes, and share thoughts.

Obviously, The Pink Frame is a place I fit in. A place where I share my passion on personal style, writing and a little bit of everything. I was influenced by my mom's office skirts and her born era, the 70s and the year I was born with denim errrthang, the 90s. Tuck-ins. Denim. Ankle boots. Monochrome. High-waist. Double shot soy latte.
..... Welcome to The Pink Frame.
